When the floor above this commercial photographer’s current studio space, located on the south side of 23rd Street in Manhattan, became available the owner seized the opportunity for expansion and quickly snatched it up. The new studio space situated at the front of the building takes advantage of the abundant northern exposure. Translucent corrugated fiberglass panels separate a private office and pantry from a series of cork-lined open workstations. Material selection, partition configuration and lighting layout all contribute to making this long slot of space feel open, invigorating and ready for a close-up.
