THE WAREHOUSE, SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE
SYRACUSE, NY
A Gluckman Mayner Architects project; Martin Marciano - Project Manager, Mark Fiedler - Facade Consultant
This project is part of Syracuse University’s efforts to help revitalize the city center by establishing a distinct and vital presence in the downtown area. The renovated 140,000-square-foot furniture warehouse now provides a temporary home for the School of Architecture and will be the permanent location for the School of Visual and Performing Arts. The facility includes a lecture hall, reading room, library storage, community and student gallery spaces and a café, in addition to studio and classroom spaces. The new curtain wall addresses the downtown area, acting as a ‘billboard’ for the university’s presence and civic commitment.
